We’re officially half way through this pregnancy and we’re ready to share the gender of our little nugget! We’ve actually known the gender ourselves for quite awhile, but since I was so terrible at keeping the pregnancy secret, we decided to enjoy the news of what we were having to ourselves for a short while. But the question can’t be avoided and I’ve let it trickle out to enough family and friends that I figured this was a good time to share it here.
What’s your guess?! Keep reading to see if you’re right :-)
BABY PRINGLE IS A GIRL!
We’re over the moon excited to be having a little girl. Adrian knew from the very beginning that it was going to be a girl. I knew a little bit beyond when he did, but by the time we had the results in hand, we were both expecting to see “female” on the paper.
The story of how Adrian decided it was a girl is actually quite funny. Adrian’s parents sent us a couple books of Irish names as soon as they found out we were pregnant (these books were old, probably from ~30 years ago when they were coming up with a name for Adrian). We were flipping through the pages and Adrian was only reading out girls names. I asked him, “why are you only looking at the girl’s names?” He paused for a minute, not realizing thats what he had been doing, and eventually said “clearly this is my subconscious telling me that we’re going to have a girl.” From that point on, he never wavered and was convinced that that is what Baby P was.
I took a little bit longer to get a feeling about gender one way or the other. But a few weeks later- maybe around week 7 or 8, I too started to get the sense that Baby P was a girl. The things that did it for me (beyond just a mama’s intuition") were a few of the old wives tales. The primary of which was my skin was absolutely changing and getting more difficult to deal with- little girl was “stealing” her mama’s beauty. Speaking of wive’s tales- I pulled a few together below just to see which ones were right and which ones were wrong.
The ones that were right and indicated girl:
Morning Sickness: Yes/No
Baby's Heart Rate: >140/<140
Sleeping On: Right Side/Left Side
Baby Bump: High/Low
The one’s that were wrong and indicated boy:
Mom's Craving: Sweet/Salty
Chinese Calendar: Girl/Boy
So as you can see, it was pretty much 50/50 for the wives tales… Anyway, we are truly so excited for Baby GIRL Pringle to be here in November. We can’t wait to bring another smart, beautiful, strong girl in to the world.
Oh and last thing- shout out to the Etsy Stores I bought our shirts from:
