If you shop at Sephora, read beauty blogs, or watch anyone in YouTube's beauty community then you likely already know that the VIB & Insider Sale is currently underway for Rouge members and launches on 4/20 (aka TOMORROW!) for VIBs and Insiders! Today, I'm going to run y'all through what I am picking up for myself, some of my personal recommendations, and some of the things that will remain on my wish list. Bear with me y'all this is a long post (btw it does contain affiliate links)! You can shop any of these products by checking out the collections I've created.
But first, if you're not currently a Sephora Insider, go sign up! Insiders get 10% off during the sale. And if you're VIB, you already know you get 15%.
What I'm Buying
Let's start with what I am actually going to spend my hard-earned money on during the sale.
First up, the Smashbox Photofinish Primerizer. I’ve seen many beauty gurus rave about this product since it launched. I’m excited to test it out and see how it compares to the Glossier Priming Moisturizer (btw I’ve got a Glossier haul and review coming very soon).
Next up I am buying a number of recommendations from my favorite YouTuber- Alanna Davison. The Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara is her all-time favorite mascara and she has gorgeous eyelashes so I’ve got to try it. I’m also grabbing a couple Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip Liners (in 3C and 5C), the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Contour Powder (in Light), and a Lancome Matte Shaker (in Completely Nuts!) at her recommendation.
The only product I’m repurchasing during the sale is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream. I’ve just about finished up my first CC Cream and this is definitely a product I need going in to the summer months. The formula is full coverage but doesn’t sit heavy on the skin. Plus it has SPF and other skin benefits that make me feel like I’m actually doing good things for my skin while wearing makeup (even if that’s not really true).
Last up, I’m grabbing the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve not heard anything about this product but I love the Ultra Repair line from First Aid Beauty and am a big fan of lighter coverage options for everyday. I’ll definitely report back and let y’all know how this one works out.
Next up, I want to share with y'all some of my favorite products at Sephora that might be worth grabbing during this year's sale. These are some of my all time favorite products that I think you might love too. Almost all of these are products I’ve shared on the blog before, so I will also link to other posts where you can read more about them.
First up in skin care, my all time favorite mask- the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask by Peter Thomas Roth. I talked all about it in my How I Refresh Dry Winter Skin Fast post, but this mask works wonders for me year round.
When it comes to base products I’d recommend the Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer and one of my all time favorite foundations the Estee Lauder Double Wear. I’ve talked about both of these before, so you can read more about the foundation in My All Time Favorite Foundations post and more about the primer in my Beauty Mistakes post.
I’ve also got two NARS products I think you should grab- the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer and any NARS Blush that suits your fancy. The Soft Matte Complete Concealer is my go to concealer currently (possibly because I ran out of Tarte Shape Tape..). It’s a great full coverage concealer that lives up to its name giving your under eyes and any other spots you need some extra coverage and a gorgeous matte finish without looking cakey. As for NARS blushes, they are just great quality. Orgasm is probably the fan favorite, but I also love Torrid and Outlaw.
Next, if I had to recommend one eye shadow palette, it would definitely be the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics. You can’t beat the versatility and quality in these matte shades. Check out Everyday Glam With Urban Decay to see this one in action.
Last but not least, I’ve included my favorite self-tanner, the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse. I’m super lazy most of the time and don’t like to take the time to do self-tanner, but when I do this product never disappoints me. Even my hubs can do my back for me and I do not end up with any weird streaks or missed spots.
My Wish List
Last up, there are still a ton of products out there that I want but are going to remain on my wish list for the time being. For the most part, these are high dollar products that I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on. There are also a few things in here that I think are too similar to products I already have, BUT still think look awesome.
Most of this wish list are skin care items that I just won’t let myself buy because I’m not good enough as skincare to justify the cost. The La Mer Crème de La Mer is an ultra-luxurious moisturizer that I’m sure would be incredible if I could ever let myself spent $170 on a moisturizer. The Peter Thomas Rother Potent-C Power Serum looks incredible and promises to deliver awesome skin care benefits… but I’m doing good if I even take my makeup off every night. I’ve also been dying to try the Drunk Elephant products, but I have no idea where to start. The Littles compilation seems like a pretty darn good place to begin.
I’ve also heard all my favorite YouTuber’s talk about the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation for years. I really want to try it at some point… maybe when I finish some of the other many foundations in my collection.
And last, I included the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. I think this palette looks gorgeous, but I definitely have some of these colors in other palette’s so I’m going to be good and leave this one on the wish list.
Whew! That was a lot of info… If you made it this far, let me know what you’re thinking about picking up at the Sephora VIB sale! Happy shopping!
