Historically, I've been a full coverage foundation girl. However, since working from home I've become more comfortable with my skin and as such haven't felt the need to wear a full face of foundation everyday. I have a number of lighter coverage foundation options but today I want to share some of the products but today there is one I want to focus on. I have a favorite I've been using recently when I don't feel like wearing foundation- but still want to look put together. I will also be sharing my new favorite sweater to complement this everyday makeup look.
Let's start with the makeup...
There is one single star of my no foundation look- the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow. This tinted moisturizer is incredible for giving life to my dull (very pale) skin. My only word of warning, if you're pale like me less is more OR use self tanner on the rest of your body. It is definitely easy to use to much and (for me) look like an Oompa Loompa. Quick demonstration of what a different just this product can make in a rare completely unedited collage below (seriously, no edits at all to these photos):
I use the Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow as my only base. From there I'll usually still use a concealer and lately I've been going for the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. I'm not a huge fan of the packaging- just don't like potted products- but the product itself is beautiful and for me it beats out NARS other classic concealer, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Because this is not the most long-lasting of bases, I do like to set this look with a colored powder to add some additional coverage and staying powder. Lately, I've been using an oldie by a goodie- the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural typically I will use light/light plus to set my under eye and light plus or medium to set my face.
The rest of my makeup, I just complete as normal depending on how much/how like I feel like wearing that day. For the photos pictured here I kept it simple using a recent drug store favorite the Milani Bronzer XL All Over Glow and Covergirl TruBlend Blush in Medium Rose. I added my normal Maybelline brow gel and finished off the eyes with the new Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara which you can see more details on in my recent Testing New Drugstore Makeup post.
Now for the outfit:
Anyone who knows me, knows that casual and comfy are two words that describe my style. You could also probably add "grey" to that list as well since it seems like that color dominates my closet... so of course when I found this cozy, cold shoulder top from Loft, I had to buy it. I paired it with some American Eagle jeggings, lace up booties, and a statement necklace (just to dress it up a little).
