It's no surprise to you all that I love all things makeup, but you may not know that I especially love finding great products from the drugstore! This weekend I stopped by CVS specifically to get my hands on a couple products from the new Maybelline Total Temptation collection. Of course, I ended up picking up a few other products during the same trip...
Today, I'm sharing a look I created with the products and my first impression of each of them.
Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara: I really love this mascara! I had been crushing hard on the Loreal Lash Paradise mascara lately, but this one may just be taking the top spot in my book! This mascara is great for lengthening and separating. For me, it doesn't add a ton of volume, so if that's what you're looking for this probably is not your number on choice. But, the gorgeous natural length that this mascara gives is perfect for every day.
Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil: I'm generally a set my brows with a tinted brow gel (the Maybelline Brow Drama is my go to) and forget it kind of girl. But on those days when I'm looking for fill in my brows a bit more this is a good option. The pencil is structured enough to create precise brow hair strokes but creamy enough to blend well with your existing brows. It's definitely a good drug store option for a brow pencil.
Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick: This is not a particularly new product but it was new to me. I picked up the color Seductress, a warm toned orange/brown nude. My first impression of this product was not great... The wand is a doe foot applicator with a hole in the middle. That hole holds on to way too much product and the shape of the applicator does not allow precise application of the product to your lips. The formula was a miss for me as well. This "matte" formula never dried down to a full matte. My lips remained just a tiny bit sticky for the whole night. Overall, this product was a miss for me (though I did like the color!) and there are better drug store options out there for a liquid lipstick. I actually wrote about one of those better options in my Five Products I Will Always Re-Purchase post.
Other products used in this look include: COVERGIRL Outlast All Day Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer, ELF Blush Palette in Light, and the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette.
Last but not least, I recieved the Loreal Elnett Extra Strong Hold hairspray in a VoxBox from Influenster. I tested it out on my newly colored hair before an evening out with friends. The packaging of this hairspray is kind of old-school. The hairspray itself worked well. It left my curls touchable but had good hold (which is a feat for my hair which can't hold a curl to save it's life). Overall, my first impression was positive. I will definitely continue to test it out.
I actually picked up a few more products just a few days later, so let me know in the comments below if you would like be to do another post like this!
