It has been five months since we moved in to our house in Houston; and for five months the space in our kitchen that was designed for a table has sat empty. This month, I finally found the perfect piece at the perfect price to fill the space. I'm going to share what I found with you today!
Our previous home in WV only had only an eat in kitchen area (and it took us a long time to find the perfect table for that space too). But our home her in TX has both a formal dining room and an eat in kitchen. The table we already had fit much better in the dining room (thank goodness!) but that left the eat in kitchen area empty.
We had spent a good amount of money on our first table (from West Elm). While it's a beautiful table, that I absolutely love, I didn't want to spend that much money again on a second table. Therefore, I set a goal for myself of finding a table and chairs for the space for less than $1,000.
That price point left out some of my favorite stores like West Elm and Crate & Barrel, so instead I turned primarily to online furniture sites like Overstock and Wayfair, while occasionally checking out World Market and Pier 1. I looked and looked but could not find what I wanted (though I found many lovely tables outside my price range).
I had honestly given up for awhile. But as they say- you'll find exactly what you're looking for as soon as you stop looking (I think that's said more often about dating but it can work for furniture too, right?). Just after the holidays, I got an email from Wayfair notifying me of a sale on dining room furniture. Expecting to find more of the same, I clicked the link and too my surprise I found the perfect table and dining chairs.
This table and chairs ties the wood & metal looks we have going on in our living room in to the white and gray kitchen, and matches our existing bar stools at the counter top perfectly! The best part... I blew my spending goal out of the water! This table and chairs from Wayfair cost less than $500!
This was my first time ordering from Wayfair, but I have to say it was a great experience. The quality of these pieces is great, the price was fantastic, and they were delivered within ~1 week of my order date. Both the chairs and table did require assembly but they were not too bad (plus we had my father in law in town to help out!). Overall, I would highly recommend this set and would definitely recommend Wayfair, at least based on this experience.
I am so excited to have this portion of my house complete! This table has become a new favorite morning work space for me since the windows let in the gorgeous morning light. It also helps that the chairs are super comfy.
I can easily say this was one of the best deals I've found in my furniture shopping days. What deals have you found? What area of your home/apartment has been your favorite to furnish?
